Birthday Celebration, Part 1 (two weeks early)

I know, it's too early but we figured we'd get a small cake since Uncle Matt, Aunt Andrea, Caroline, Sam, Aunt Eileen, Sarah, Ian and Emma were visiting. In the video of everyone singing "Happy Birthday," all that you can hear is Rebecca saying "but it's not sisters' birthday yet."

Visit from Caroline and Sam (and Uncle Matt and Aunt Andrea)

The first thing Caroline did after getting out of the car was to ask Amanda to read a story to her. After, she said "Wow, Amanda. I'm so proud of you."

Cute picture but this sleeping arrangement did not last long.

Friendly's for ice cream. Rebecca and Caroline really bonded this trip!

Davis Farmland 2008 - Baby Animals

Because it was early spring, there were lots of new baby animals at the farm. The baby goats were literally born yesterday. The calf was two weeks old. The chicks, a couple of days. The girls loved seeing all the baby animals.

Hannah Williams Playground in Wayland

Otherwise known to the girls as "Castle Park."

The weather has been just spectacular this week - in the 70s and sunny - so we have been exploring different playgrounds. This is an old favorite from the Natick area.

Bike Riding

On Wednesday, we took Emily and Amanda to a bike riding clinic hosted by the occupational therapy students at Worcester State University. They rode their bikes for the first time without training wheels. By the time we got home and they showed Jay, they were riding a good 100 feet or more on their own. It's an amazing thing!

I wish I had video but I was too busy clapping!

Reading "Aunt Eileen Stories" with Aunt Eileen

For her birthday, the girls gave Aunt Eileen a book of stories that they wrote and illustrated for her. Here they are reading the stories to her.

Earth Day at the Boston Children's Museum

This is Amanda being the "Statue of Boston"

I don't know what this is or why it was there but the girls liked the "Blue Guy."

Boston Children's Museum

On Tuesday before we picked Aunt Eileen up from the airport, we stopped at the Boston Children's Museum to see the Berenstain Bears exhibit. It wasn't much but the rest of the museum was fun.

Castle in the Trees Playground, Littleton

This is the world famous "Sticky Manzicki" that you may have heard about.

Lemonade Stand

At least someone in the family is gainfully employed. They each made $1.25.

Passover Seder

I'll spare you all the video of Amanda reading the four questions - including trying to read the transliteration of the Hebrew - because it goes on for quite a while.

Visit with the Joshis and Carvajal-Kossnars

We had brunch last Saturday with some old friends from my work (remember when I used to be a productive member of society?). After brunch, we went to the playground to enjoy the beautiful weather - or so we thought. Our friends, in from San Antonio, were in long sleeves and jackets. We were in shorts and tanks.

Junie B. Jones Show

We went to see Junie B. Jones off-broadway. The girls (all of us, actually) LOVED it!

Night-night stories with Grandma

Battery Park - Spring is Here!

I don't know why but that first ice pop of the summer always tastes best!

Statues of Liberty (and Cuteness)

Visit to New York City

On the weekend of April 12-13, we went to NYC for Jay's 40th birthday.

The girls rode on the NYC subway - the basement of New York - as Amanda called it.

We also rode the Staten Island Ferry (something neither Jay nor I had ever done before) so that we could see the Statue of Liberty.
